Check Your Body Size

Size matters

Size matters, very much ... who cares about men, this isn't about them ... your clothes need to fit...properly. Do you know your measurements? Not the ones you wish you had... but the ones you actually have? Well if not you will need: a cloth tape measure, paper and pen and maybe a glass of wine...its reality time.
In order to assure a perfect fit for your body you need to be honest and know yourself well, it's always a good idea to have a friend help.
To cover all bases begin at the top, especially if you like hats.

Head: Measure the circumference of your head just above your ears, directly above your eyebrows and around the lower back of your head, making sure the tape isn't too tight, hats can give you a headache if they don't fit properly.

Neck: Measure around the lowest part or your neck, just above your collar bone.

Bust: Measure around under your arms across the fullest part of your bust keeping the tape taught but not tight.

Waist: Measure at the narrowest part of your body center

Hips: Measure at the fullest part of your lower torso, approx. 8" below your waist. But if you are larger through the bottom and top of the thigh as many women are, take this into account.

Thigh: Measure the fullest part of each thigh to insure proper fit of trousers

Calves: Measure the fullest part of each calf. Some vintage styles have narrow leg openings, so please check with us if you have concerns.

Length, neck to waist: Measure down the spine.

Back length: Measure from waist to hem line of garment, measured down the spine

Inseam: Measure from the crotch to hem of pant

Crotch depth: Measure seated, on the side, and from seat to waist

Shoes: Measure the length from tip of big toe to edge of heel from the side, width across widest part of foot from the top. If you have foot issues, please take them into account.

Hands and gloves: The Glove Site knows all.

Now, you will have all the information you need to get a pretty close to perfect fit!
